North Cumberland Historical Society

What We Do
The North Cumberland Historical Society strives to collect, archive, publish, and make available historical and genealogical information of the North Cumberland area to the public.
To this end, the Historical Society houses a number of collections that are open to the public, including: audio-visual materials, family files, genealogical charts, general history files, maps, archival fonds, school ledgers, photos, and a general reference library.
Genealogical Research
If your roots are in the North Cumberland region of Nova Scotia, we may have genealogy information that can help. A volunteer will help you with accessing that material when you visit, or to answer the questions of those who write us from away (as time permits). Don't be surprised if we ask you to share your material with us in return!!
Historical Research
Do you have a specific question or research interest? If we can't find the answer in our material, we can usually find a person who has the information you require. Have some history or stories to share? Tell us and we can put them on facebook or on our website.
If you are researching North Cumberland County history or North Cumberland County genealogy, check out and click the tabs above. This site is only as good as its information.
